Welcome to the HATE Rankings where I list off every wrestler's rivals and relationships with fellow performers.
The goal of the series is to enhance storytelling by displaying the various underused intricacies each wrestler has with each other.

"The Monster" Abyss is first up for the TNA roster for a couple reasons. One, he is obviously the leader in the alphabetical department. Also, he happens to be one of only two men to have wrestled on TNA's first show that are still with the promotion.
Having that much of a legacy can provide a plentiful amount of stories.
Note that this not only concerns "Abyss" but also his other personality Joseph Park having found to be the same person.

H stands for hatred.
* Bram and Abyss went to war on several occasions in Monsters Ball. The bonkers Englishman tried to one-up the insanity and the two will always clash on who's more hardcore.
* Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards, collectively known as The Wolves, have been fighting Abyss for more than a year now. The duo clashed with him during The Revolution's reign and are still fighting today now that Decay has formed.
* James Storm led the group known as The Revolution with Abyss, Khoya and Manik as his henchman. Storm disciplined the group through vindictiveness and beatings. When things grew sour, Abyss left the ill-led faction. Now, with the tag titles implicated, Abyss is out for Storm's blood.
* Similar to his issues with Bram, Abyss has been locked in a disturbing game of showmanship against Jeff Hardy. The Charismatic Enigma is constantly looking to top his daredevil self and Abyss is always eager to up the violence.

A stands for allies.
Abyss doesn't look like he should have a lot of friends, but he's actually been in quite a few stables. He was featured heavily in Hulk Hogan's Immortal (terrible). He was James Storm's lackey in The Revolution (terrible). Now, though, he's finally struck gold with the discovery of Decay (great so far).
The exotic and haunting "Death Dealer" Rosemary appeared on the scene earlier this year and looks to have dug her venomous claws deep into Abyss and Crazzy Steve.
Previously two wackier characters, Abyss and Mr. Steve have now taken on darker personas. They are nobodies trying to be somebodies and they are set to rule the tag team division.

T stands for tension.
(i.e. when these two wrestlers meet, the atmosphere is tense but they are not at the "hatred" stage yet.)

* He once had a toy lightsaber fight with Al Snow. Animosity still brews between the two over it.
* Drew Galloway beat all of The Revolution in a three-on-one handicap match. Embarrassing.
* Joseph Park's debut match and win was over Robbie E. In a pre-match promo, Robbie called Park a "Hamster" and Abyss hasn't forgiven him. Park, when teaming up with Eric Young, also had an extended on-and-off rivalry with Robbie E and his partner Jessie Godderz.
Now that the Bro Mans are back on TNA's tag team scene, Abyss can move in for revenge.

(These are happenings in the wrestler's career that stick with them.)

Over the past thirteen years, it's hard to think of things that haven't happened to The Monster.
He's been lit on fire, he's been put through a million tables, he's had unrequited middle school level crushes on backstage interviewers, he's fought a guy with a rat, he's fought Rellik which is killer spelled backwards, he shares affection for a plank of wood with nails coming out of it he's named "Janice", he's been in and out of mental institutions, he had a schizophrenic episode where he ran a law-firm and retrained to be a wrestler, and he once tried to drown Christian in a pool; among other things of course.
If anyone, ANYONE at all, has an in-depth and ultra intricate character arch it's Abyss. Nobody on the roster has been through the amount of gore, heartache, and torture as The Monster.
