2020 Film Review: Freaky

More slasher villains should just be teenage girls because few people are more terrifying when motivated. (Image Courtesy of: youtube.com)
Quick Take: Freaky seeks out the same wit and fire that made Christopher Landon's other work so funny and scary, but it falls more into the amusing enough category. It is a fun slasher film ride with some emotional beats, but some of its humor does not land.

Do we still in 2020 need movies that are written expressely with the message "women are just as smart as men"? Maybe, given the current climate. (Image Courtesy of: denofgeek.com)

In the United States alone, 20 million were affected with 346 thousand cases. This is a highly contagious virus that can cripple people if not outright kill them. In order to avoid it, the world had waves of complete lockdown. Despite this going on almost a year, much of the world is still in isolation.

This has affected so many in different ways. From the many important people lost in this year to the financial burden so many already-struggling people have endured from the closure of businesses, we were caught at the brink of true tragedy.

2020 Film Review: Just Another Christmas (Tudo Bem No Natal Que Vem)

This movie promises that the main character is stuck reliving only Christmas every year, but... he's clearly stuck in Christmas EVE. (Image Courtesy of: netflix.com)
Quick Take: Just Another Christmas (Tudo Bem No Natal Que Vem) has the spirit and heart of a true Christmas story as its main character goes from hating to loving the holiday. It is a little disjointed and very corny, but its heart feels perfectly suited for regular viewing during the holiday season.
