The Top Ten WWE, NXT, and Impact Matches of 2017

12/27/2017

.....as far as I'm concerned.

Written by Jacob Stachowiak

If you clicked the link thinking you would see a list of the objectively ten best professional wrestling matches of 2017, you'll have to wait for my colleague Kevin Berge's list. This one's for me.

The list consists of only NXT, Impact Wrestling and WWE main roster matches because my viewership of Ring of Honor has fallen off, I can't comprehend the astronomy lesson that is New Japan and Meltzer's star rating system and I haven't progressed enough to watch British pro-graps.

These contests captured me in one way or another outside of the typical realm and understanding of what good professional wrestling is. It's less about work-rate and more about how it left a lasting effect on me.

I thought Bound For Glory was great this year. It certainly was the best BFG in awhile.

Check out my thoughts below:

From a Kayfabe Perspective: How is Braun Strowman Not WWE Universal Champion?

9/1/2016

Hooray, hooray for Kevin Owens they all say. Well, I say nay.

You all know the backstage, political, and creative decisions behind Kevin Owens winning the Universal Championship and his predecessor Finn Balor for that matter. However, from a real perspective - a viewpoint that is reckless to have while watching wrestling - how in the world is Braun Strowman not the champion of the universe right now?

Replace "local competitor Johnny Knockout" with any main-event wrestler and you'll have the same conclusion.

Red vs. Blue: The State Of WWE Raw vs. Smackdown Live, 7/25-7/26

7/27/2016

Red vs. Blue is a web series created using the video game engine featured in the Halo franchise. It's insanely popular, funny, and engaging. So if you've never seen it, stop being a shisno and check it out.

Keep in mind that you have rights, and you don't have to listen to my suggestions on what to watch. Just know that Jesus loves me more than you, and your soul is now damned to an afterlife of suffering.

Anyways, let's move onto a different comical universe (one that has its own "Universal" championship because they didn't bother testing the name in a small group).

Vince McMahon has once again placed Raw and Smackdown as dueling promotions to create competition. This was the first week of an exciting battle, but which show came out on top in the inaugural brawl?

The Ascension Is Gearing Up To Rule Smackdown Live's Tag Team Division...No Seriously

7/20/2016

Those were the days.
On last night's WWE Draft Center show, after Smackdown Live went off the air, The Ascension were drafted in the eighth round as the 41st overall pick.

Konnor and Viktor were chosen before eighteen other wrestlers. The Ascension were chosen over other wrestlers who actually aren't injured or suspended, mind you. Even The Dudley Boyz - yes, one of the greatest tag teams ever - were chosen after them.
