Quick Take: Annabelle: Creation takes the best elements of the Conjuring Universe and sends them back in time with a contained period piece. It is terrifying, dread-inducing, and ultimately one of the scariest mainstream horror films in recent memory.

Quick Take: Promising Young Woman has a clear strong focus that can be hard to watch. While it is a black comedy, it is rarely genuinely funny as much as frightening at every turn. Well acted, well written, and well directed, it is a complete experience that needs to be seen for those that can take the intensity.
